Speaking in public and giving a presentation are two of the greatest fears many people have. They’re right up there with job interviews and asking your boss for a raise.
Debating, and its business-related cousin negotiating, is another area people are often nervous about. We sometimes give in too easily to avoid conflict situations, especially if you are not confident in your English ability.
There is only one method to deal with this fear if you have to speak in public, present, debate or negotiate; learn the strategies and techniques to do it well and practice.
Our Public Speaking and Debate courses will give you a foundation with which to practice, and how to mitigate fear and avoid many of the common mistakes that people make.
We’ll show you how to choose the right words and phrases with which to state your position, support your assertions with evidence and examples, and appear confident while doing so.
You’ll learn how to engage the audience with your voice and body language, and use visuals effectively to support your speech or presentation.
To take part in any of the Public Speaking and Debate courses, you must have achieved a minimum of High Intermediate English proficiency, as these courses contain no ESL instruction.
